Learning outcomes

After this course students:

  • can use different approaches to the classification and identification of risks in the sphere of waste management
  • can identify the risks associated with the activities of waste disposal facilities
  • can use regulatory requirements and legislative basics in the sphere of risk management and environmental safety to develop recommendations to minimizing the risks

Competences obtained by students:

  • have knowledge of the theoretical basis of classification, identification and risk assessment in the sphere of waste management
  • able to assess and rank risks associated with waste management (social, economic and environmental risks)
  • able to organize sociological surveys of public opinion and public discussions for environmental impact assessment (EIA) of waste disposal facilities
  • able to calculate and minimize the level of risks in the sphere of waste management
  • able to make decisions to improve environmental conditions in accordance with the interests of society
